Before heading off, the best tip we can give you is to prepare early and be prepared for the type and length of trip you expect to be taking.
Especially if you are new to the world of caravanning, take the time to get to know your van and make sure you have set up, open and closed and used every part of your van to ensure you don't have any nasty surprises. You don't want to travel 500klm on day one to find your roof won't wind up or your battery power doesn't work.
Good and early preparation helps reduce the possibility of things going wrong and when on your trip, lost time and unexpected expenses such as temporary accomodation or towing.
Pre trip check list.
Make sure you have everything packed including hoses, jacks, wheel chocks, hose adaptors, poles and ropes.
